Bookings for Grey Arrows Drone Club meetups must be paid for in advance and are non-refundable. This is because meetup costs are committed in advance based on the number of confirmed attendees, including field hire, welfare facilities, safety equipment, and other event requirements.
By booking or attending a meetup, you agree to follow any on-site rules, instructions, safety briefings, venue requirements, and directions given by Grey Arrows Drone Club representatives or event organisers. You also agree to comply with the Drone and Model Aircraft Code at all times, and to operate your drone or model aircraft safely, legally, and responsibly.
All attendees who intend to fly must have valid drone public liability insurance. If you are not a Gold Member of Grey Arrows Drone Club, you must provide a copy of your drone public liability insurance before flying at the meetup. Insurance is mandatory.
Grey Arrows Drone Club reserves the right to refuse entry or withdraw permission to fly where an attendee cannot provide satisfactory proof of insurance, fails to follow site rules, acts unsafely, or fails to comply with the Drone and Model Aircraft Code.
Flying Rules and Site Requirements:
- Depending on the field, venue, location, surrounding airspace, or any temporary restrictions in effect at the time, temporary maximum altitude limits or other flight restrictions may apply. Attendees will be informed of any such restrictions on the day and must comply with them at all times.
- All drones and model aircraft must take off and land from the designated take-off and landing points only.
- Attendees must not overfly camping areas, parking areas, people, vehicles, or any other areas identified as restricted during the safety briefing.
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead or tethered at all times. Owners must clean up after their dogs and take all dog waste home with them.
- Petrol generators must not be used between 22:00 and 08:00.
Flying Etiquette:
- When taking off or landing, pilots must clearly announce this so that everyone nearby is aware.
- FPV pilots must not launch at full throttle. Take off gently and hover at a few metres first, as someone may be near or over your drone.
- Pilots using the designated take-off and landing point must agree channels, frequencies, and any other relevant flying arrangements between themselves.
- Any other radio-controlled equipment, including RC cars or similar devices, must only be operated from the designated take-off and landing point and only with permission from the pilots currently flying.
- No drone, controller, transmitter, video system, or related radio equipment may be powered on anywhere else on site. Powering on equipment outside the designated take-off and landing area could interfere with another pilot’s aircraft, including FPV drones, and may cause a crash.
Participation in Grey Arrows Drone Club meetups is voluntary. All attendees are responsible for their own equipment, vehicles, property, conduct, and personal safety. Attendees participate at their own risk.
Grey Arrows Drone Club, its representatives, event organisers, and the landowner do not accept liability for any personal injury, property damage, vehicle damage, loss, theft, or other loss that may occur.
Attendees must adhere to all applicable airspace regulations, the Drone and Model Aircraft Code, the Club’s safety guidelines, site rules, and all directions given during safety briefings. Attendees must fly responsibly at all times and must not act in any way that may bring Grey Arrows Drone Club, the venue, the landowner, the wider drone community, or the hobby into disrepute.
